Title: Dsc00054.2 -

2001

Mixed Media.

This is a developed piece that started in The University of Calgary.  The ideas I had was how shadows can imitate drawings.

However, this is a simple installation that has been truely inspirational to me and viewers.  Many discussions have stemmed from the rawness of still life drawings and the red willows acting as frames.  And yet, the shadows overlap acting as another frame as well.  For me, it creates questions, which is the frame?  Or even if it is a frame?

I am looking to expand this idea more and look forward to putting the next group of ideas that came from this into practice.  Wherever that lobby, gallery, foyer, or living space may be.  The continuous changing aspect of this piece is fantastic.  Adding to the questions of whether controlled lighting or natural lights?  And how the meanings revolve into more anxious questions to be answered or pondered.
