Reclining Figure. -
2009.
Charcoal.
After being absent from the figure drawing world for approximately 7 years, I joined the Prairie Figure Drawing Club. And thanks to Ken Housego, I am back and completely rejoicing the evening with a group of fantastic people and an evening of drawing.
This is one of four drawing that I completed in one evening after three weeks back. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, they were only 20 minute sitting and limited the drawing time. Are they successful, I believe they are. I believe that knowing that I have a time limit on some of these sittings forces me to take steps that I normally wouldn’t do or try. And as a result, perhaps not the best drawing, but a tool to develop my skills I enjoy so much.
This is one of my favourite drawings. I have pieces of your charcoal works and I do like this side of your many talents. Looking forward to seeing more in the near future. Looking forward to seeing some charcoal works of your trips abroad too.
