Over the years I have done many many drawings and studies of still lifes with mugs and cups. I stumbled across an artist named Carol Marine, www.carolmarine.blogspot.com, which I stumble into once every couple of weeks to enjoy. She works with a number of still lifes aswell. One specific painting was of 2 mugs stacked up. I realized that in all the drawings that I have done, I had never done this before. More in awe of my stupidity then to react and think about it, I continued my image search online. Before I knew it, I was into more than half a dozen images of same configuration. Well, me not wanting to be the odd person out…this is what I came up with. I used pastel with this and the things that I really like about this is the texture and the marks that came out on this piece. Enjoy and thank you Carol.
