Upcoming Events in the Peace- July 11, 2010. -

Well, good morning everyone.  It is Sunday and it just wouldn’t be a completed Sunday morning without sending out a letter with the upcoming events and things to prepare for.

July 22 deadline.  Beaverlodge Area Cultural Society.  Deadline for their Juried Art Exhibition.  I only have a little info for this, but the deadliine is the date to shot for and everything will follow through the weekend of the 23rd.

July 24th.  Centre for Creative Arts.  Grand Re-opening with speeches and ribbon cutting and all the goodies that go hand in hand with it.  Where will be a number of events happening throughout the day.  http://creativecentre.ca/

July 25th.  McNaught Homestead.  They are having their Tea Festival out there with all kinds of artist participating.  I will be out there drawing and rumor has it Wendy Olson-Lepchuk will be doing glass fusing demonstration and Debbie has the pottery covered.  I have just formally met Wendy and I am completely intrigued by the glass process.  And Debbie, everyone knows Debbie and her pottery speaks for itself.  Times for that are 1-4…I believe.

July 19-25 in Peace River the Summer Games are going on.  That includes a juried art show, alternative art show, cultural performances of local talent, and a large open art market all week.

Art of The Peace Magazine is preparing a members show and being hosted by Dan and Tara at Unique Gallery.  I say the word members, but don’t be thrown off from that.  Memberships are only $10 for the year.  I will enclose a link to the page on AOTP website for more details.  This show is going to run parallel to Alberta Arts Days and will be one of the venues on the art walk planned.  It will be a great oppertunity to show people who you are and what you have been doing.

A biggie for everyone to write down.  Art of the Peace Symposium.  October 15, 16, 17.  Details are just getting ironed out.  But, the artists have been confirmed and activities being planned.

So, in short.  We have alot of oppertunities coming up.  I am more than willing to try and pass the word with emails like this if people forward info to me.  The only thing I ask for is patience.  By the time I get it finished, my coffee intake has escalated and have already started thinking about the piece in the studio I  am working on.

You can email information and events to contact@danarberry.ca.  Have a great week and look forward to seeing everyone out and supporting each other.
